Terms of Use

These terms apply when you download or use Video Guest Book. Apple’s standard end-user licence terms also apply where required.

Using the app

Video Guest Book gives the host a personal, limited and non-transferable licence to configure an event, let guests record messages and save those recordings to the host device. The host is responsible for supervising the iPad and obtaining any consent needed to record guests, including children.

Event activation

Customisation and test recording are available before purchase. A one-time consumable in-app purchase activates unlimited guest recordings for one event on the current app installation. Each additional event requires another activation. Apple displays the local price and confirms payment before purchase.

An activation is assigned to the selected local event. Because the purchase is consumable and the app has no account or cloud event service, it is not designed to restore after the app or its local data is deleted. If payment completes but the event does not unlock, use Recover an incomplete activation before purchasing again and contact support if recovery does not resolve it. Refund requests are handled under Apple’s policies.

Local files and backups

The app stores event data and temporary recordings on the device and attempts to add completed messages to the Wedding Messages album in Photos. The host must check the saved picture and sound before the event and confirm each important recording exists in Photos before removing the app, resetting the device or handing it back. iCloud Photos behaviour depends on the host’s Apple settings.

Acceptable use

Do not use the app unlawfully, secretly record people where consent is required, infringe another person’s privacy or intellectual-property rights, interfere with the app’s purchase controls, or use recordings to harass or harm others.

Availability and responsibility

Camera, microphone, Photos, storage, battery, accessories, iPadOS and Apple services can affect operation. Test the complete setup before an event and keep another way to capture important messages. To the fullest extent allowed by applicable law, the app is provided without a promise of uninterrupted or error-free operation. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Changes

The app and these terms may be updated as the product changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date. Continued use after an update means the updated terms apply.
